How do I apply the Cath Grip™?

The Cath Grip attaches to any part of the body where a tube needs to be securely held in place. In order to attach the Cath Grip, first, remove the paper backing from the oval of hydrocolloid. In areas where excessive hair is present, light shaving is recommended. Press the hydrocolloid on to the part of the skin where the Cath Grip needs to attach. Make sure the hydrocolloid is smooth on the skin. Open the tube holder and place the tube between the tube grips and the tube locks. Insert the tube grips through tube locks and pull them tightly to secure the tube.

How long does the tube stay in place?

The tube will stay securely in place until you unlock the tube holder or remove the Cath Grip.

Can I change the tube without taking off the Cath Grip™?

Yes. To remove a tube and replace it with another, simply open the tube holder, remove the original tube and replace with the new tube. Tighten the tube holderagain by threading the tube grips through the tube locks and pull tightly to secure the new tube.

How long does the Cath Grip™ stay on my skin?

The Cath Grip can stay on the skin for up to 14 days.

How do I take the Cath Grip™ off?

To remove the Cath Grip, first, remove the tube from the tube holder. Once the tube has been removed, use a warm, wet washcloth to moisten the hydrocolloid that is attached to your skin. When the hydrocolloid turns milky white, you can easily slip the Cath Grip off your skin.

Do not pull the Cath Grip off without first moistening the hydrocolloid seal. Hydrocolloid is not ready to be removed until it turns a milky white color and slips off easily.
